Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick - $28.00 CDN

I love Too Faced!  Even more, I totally love their eyeshadow palettes! I love them so much that I own a few of them, especially their Chocolate Bar Palette series.  I swear they need to come out with a third one this year!  Too Faced makeup is so amazing that I would literally own just about every product if I could.  So when they came out with these liquid lipsticks I knew I had to have them.

I looked through all the colors when they were released on Sephora.  While the range of colors were awesome, however I normally stick within the pink and nude shades.  So I ordered the Melted Peony color based on the swatches that a Youtuber demonstrated.  I was so excited to try it out that I spend the next three days watching all sorts of Youtube videos on these liquid lipsticks!

These liquid lipsticks are all matte.  While they do not come across dull, but they do lack shine and sparkle.  So if you are looking for that, then these are not for you.  These mattes are vibrant without the disco ball effect.  Another great thing about these liquid lipsticks is that when they start to wear off, you are not left with that ugly lipstick ring around stain.  You know, where its still visible on the outer portion of your lips but completely gone in the middle.  Another great thing is their sponge applicator.  I love this fact because liquid lipstick is very slippery, so having a sponge tip applicator helps to keep the color on target as you spread it around your lips for a smooth and polished finish without all the mess.

When my Too Faced Melt Peony finally arrived, I broke open the box like it was going out of style! I applied the lipstick and let it set in! I love how beautiful the color was. It was a pretty muted pink that was bright. However after wearing it for an hour, I hated it! It melted right into the lines of my lips and left them feeling dry, extenuated my lip lines and just looked cracked all around! I had no clue what had happen. So of course I hit the net! The more I read online, the more I found people complaining about the same problem. However to counteract this problem, it was recommended to apply an emollient lip balm underneath in order to prevent it from settling into dry lines and keeping your lips moist. So every time I wore this, I found myself applying lip balm for preventative measures. I wanted to order their Melted Nude color, but held off as I didn't really like the fact that I needed lip balm in order to get this product to cooperate.

About six months later, Too Faced came out with a whole new ranges of colors for their melted liquid lipsticks.  I fell in love with their Melted Sugar color.  It has got to be one of the most beautiful nudes I have ever seen.  However based on the last issue with the formula, I wasn't sure if I wanted to bother with it altogether.  Nonetheless, about two months later, my amazing friend, Jenny sent me a baby gift with the Melted Sugar color as a treat for me!!  I was so in love with the fact that I actually had this color in my house that I put it on right away!  I completely forgot to apply the lip balm before hand, but it didn't matter.  This liquid lipstick held on so well and melted right into my lips in a creamy type of way.  It lasted for hours and didn't budge one bit.  I was amazed not only on how pigmented it was for being completely matte, but just how amazing it felt.

I read later somewhere that some of the liquid lipsticks had the problem of settling into lines and coming across really dry.  However, I also read that once they released their second batch of new colors; it seems as if the formula was changed and the creaminess was on "fleek!"  Truth be told, whatever it is, I like it.  There is in my opinion a massive difference with the formula of the first batch and the formula of the second batch.  At this point if its true that they have re-formulated the texture of this product, then that means I can buy my long awaited Melted Nude!

Too Faced is truly one of my favorite makeup company's that always puts out quality makeup.  So when Melted Peony failed on me, I had a feeling it was either a fluke or a problem with the batch.  Nonetheless, now that it has been corrected, my love for Too Faced can continue in the form of buying more of their Melted Liquid Lipsticks!  Have you seen their new Melted Metal?  Of course I plan to try those out as well! They look awesome on Youtube!

Well their you have it, my review on Too Faced Melt Liquid Lipsticks!  Have you tried any of their colors?  Let me know down below what you think of them!

Keep Smiling!

Perfect Palette Tag!

Perfect Palette Tag!

Post contains affiliated links

Makeup palettes are awesome! Not only do you get more than one shade in each compact, but you get in many cases a mixture of satin, shimmer and matte shades to complement just about any skin tone and and eye color.  Moreover, the majority of makeup eyeshadow palettes are so versatile that you can create just about any look all year around. The greatest thing about makeup palettes is that you can find them in either warm tones, cool tones or a mixture of both! So in honor of these great palettes, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and do my own Perfect Palette Tag that was started on Youtube! Check out my Youtube video at the bottom of this page down below on this tag!!!

1. Best Packaging Palette!

Hands down the best packaging I have seen so far is the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette.  Not only is the palette shaped like a yummy milk chocolate bar but the palette itself literally smells like CHOCOLATE!! OMG it's to die for.  It has a mix of cool and warm tones shades plus shimmer and matte shadows.  Moreover, the packaging is very sturdy and great to travel with in order to keep all your shadows in perfect shape without breaking!

2. Best Color Payoff Palette!

I just love Too Faced.  I really do.  What I love most about them is their ability to create amazing quality good shadows.  The Boudoir eyeshadow palette has one of the best color payoff's I have ever seen.  This palette comes with nine shadows that are a mix of stain, shimmer and matte.  The colors are gorgeous, vibrant and standout on their own.  When I wear these on my eyes, it literally looks like the most beautiful mixture of colors I have ever seen.  These shadows can be used for a day or night time look that will flatter just about if not all eye colors and skin tones.  The colors never dulls or fade throughout the day and truly keep their hues all day long.  Grant it, I ALWAYS wear eyeshadow with primer. Nonetheless whenever I wear these shades, someone always compliments me on these shadows.

3. Most Versatile Palette!

What I love about this palette, is that it not only has some of the most beautiful matte colors you will ever see, but it also has some cool and warm tones as well.  Moreover if you feel like you need a little shimmer in your life, it comes with a transforming shade that you can apply over or mix with any of the matte shades in order to give it a pearl like sheen and glow!  This palette has little to absolutely no fall out and the color pay off is just amazing for being a matte palette.  The colors do not come across chalky but more like a lovely stain but in a matte finish!  Truly one of the most amazing palettes I have ever used!

4. Best Travelling Palette!

This palette is amazing for travel because not only do you get six eyeshadows that are matte and shimmery to play with, but you also get in this palette a blush, highlighter and bronzer all in one compact.  Moreover this palette is about the size of your palm (or at least mine) and is rounded with a great large mirror.  This palette covers all your needs in one and is truly prefect for traveling without having to carry so many other compacts and palettes to  make your face up with! Finally this compact is so sturdy that you can fit in your travel bag and not worry about the shadows breaking!

5. Biggest Regret Palette!

Sadly I really wanted to like this with its cute ribbon and all.  However that didn't happen.  Not only was this impossible to blend, but the color would not come off the pan.  It literally seems like it had a wax coating on top that did not allow for a large majority of the shadows to be picked up by my makeup brushes.  This did not fair well on my eyes either.  For the shadows that I was able to pick up and apply on my lids, you could hardly see them and due to the lack of ability to blend; it just looked gross and nasty all around. I have not bought a single thing for Physicians Formula since then.  Maybe I'm wrong about the company.  Who knows at this point but I am not willing to spend money again on something that might have the same quality issue.

6. Best Color Names Palette!

IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration Palette

I love this palette because of the awesome names!  Sadly this palette was limited edition last year for the holidays.  I was able to buy it right before it went out of production.  The shades in this palette were basically named after the holidays with names like warm wishes, sugar plum, starry night, hot cocoa and snow angel to name a few.  Moreover not only are the color names so cute in this palette, but just like the originally IT Cosmetic palette; it has some amazing matte shades that leave you with an amazing sheen to your eye.  This palette can be worn all year long and also has a transforming shade to add shimmer and a stain finish to any color in the palette if you want to spice it up a bit!

7. Least Used Palette!

Lise Watier Quatuor Feline

I fell in love with this palette the moment I laid eyes on it.  It came out last year in the fall as part of Lise Watier limited Fall collection.  However since last year when I bought it, I have used it all of ONE time in seven months.  It has some of the prettiest colors I have ever seen for a palette.  The colors blend well, apply beautifully on the eyes and have little to no fall out.  Yet with all that being said, I hardly if ever reach for it let alone remember it.  I plan to keep it regardless because of its great attributes and the fact that it wasn't cheap.  Hopefully one day I get inspired to try it out again based on the amount of money I paid for it!

8. Most Used, Most Loved, Desert Island Palette!

If I was every stuck on a desert island there would be a few things I bring with me besides food and water.  Sunblock, lip balm, Paula's Choice face wash, BHA and finally this eyeshadow palette.  From the moment I bought this eyeshadow palette I have not put it down.  I will probably end up hitting pan on a few of these shadows before the year is up.  I mean can you blame me?  Every time I open up my makeup drawer, the smell of chocolate captivities me and I have no choice BUT to use it!  Well played Too Faced....well played!!  This palette has a mixture of shimmer and matte shades that blend well, have little to no fall out and have a color pay off like you would not believe.  This palette also comes in a sturdy case that be useful when traveling to protect the shadows from damage.  The range of colors allows you to do anything for a no makeup makeup look to a full blown out night time cat eye look.  Best part of it all, is that it seems like chocolate!!  If you only had $62 bucks to spend, I would say blow it on this! Everything you want in an eyeshadow palette and more!!

Well there you have it!  My Perfect Palette Tag!  Let me know what eyeshadow palettes you love and hate!

Keep Smiling!

Is There a Difference Between Contouring and Bronzing?

Lately I have been seeing people asking this question.  Is there a difference between contouring and bronzing?  The answer is, it depends.  Some people will contour at the same time they bronze with the same products.  Others use two different products and two different makeup brushes to achieve these two methods.  At the end of the day it depends what look you are going for.

I normally contour and bronze at the same time.  However on the days when I have time and really want that contouring defined line, I will combine these two methods above by using specific brushes and bronzers.  Its not that hard and very easy to achieve.  However in order to get these two in one look, you need the proper makeup brushes and products.  No matter what you tell yourself, without the proper tools your contouring and bronzing will not come out right.  There lies the difference between your face looking dirty and your face looking well defined.

When contouring your face, you need know where to find and draw the lines that naturally create a shadows on your face. Those are lines that you want to define and crave out in order to achieve that contour look.  However when doing this method pay attention.  Contour needs to go with the shape of your face.  Its important you understand the shape of your face before you start contouring.  If not, then you may draw lines that extenuate unnatural areas of your face leaving a not so attractive look.  Once you find those areas of your face to contour, use the proper makeup brush(es) and products to achieve this look.

Contouring

So first things first, you need to decide if you want to only contour, only bronze or both.  Because if you apply bronzer in the same exact areas as of your contouring, then you face is going to look dirty as you will cover way to much with bronzer.  If you plan to contour and bronze, then you need to adjust the amount of product and areas you going to cover with these products.  So let's start off with contouring and drawing those lines!

Tools & Products

First you want to get yourself a good contouring product that has grey not red or orange undertones.  If you use red or orange undertone contour product, it will for sure stand out in a not so attractive way.  So stick to grey for a more natural look.  I normally use a cream bronzer for contouring because it's easy to blend and works better when I apply bronzer over it.

My go to cream contour is Soliel Tan de Chanel.  I love this product for many reasons.  First, while it may be pricey, however it comes a large jar that more than justifies the cost.  I have been using this product for almost a year, not even half way through and has not dried out nor does it look like it will any time soon.  Second, the price.  For a jar this size for only $51 CDN is amazing.  This product is literally the size of the whole palm of my hand.  Third, this has proper undertones.  You always want to go for a grey undertone bronzer when contouring. If you go for a red or orange, it will make your face look weird and stand out in many ways.  Think "I have spent to much time in the tanning booth" burnt look.  So stay away from red or orange bronzers when contouring.

For contouring you will need a few brushes, potentially.  First, you will need a contouring brush to apply this cream to hallow out your cheek bones, sides of your nose, underneath your jaw and lip, on your temples and upper outer corners of your hairline.

The Blank Canvas Cosmetics F30 Sculpt Brush works wonders to draw a fine and precise line on your cheekbones and upper outer corners of your hairline.  This brush has great control and literally leaves you with the best lines I have ever seen.  You can also use this brush for blending in your contour, however if you have a small face then brush might be to much for you.

In that case I recommend using Blank Canvas Cosmetics F21 Angled Contour Face Brush which works wonders not only for small faces but to seamlessly blend in your contour.  Due to the fact that this brush is angled, it works beautifully on the hollows of your cheeks and around your face without getting makeup in your hair.  Brushes that lack the angled shape tend to get makeup in your hair.  However since our foreheads are normally rounded and not straight, this brush fits right into the rounded angles and blends out the makeup.  Also works wonders to blend underneath your chin and down your neck.

Bronzer

Bronzing is a bit different then contouring in the aspect that you apply product in larger areas of your face but more subtly.  If you over do this part on top of your contouring, then you for sure will look like someone who has had way to much time in the sun in all the wrong ways.  You don't want to walk away looking unnaturally brown or bronzed.  So make sure to apply bronzer light handed with  undertones that work for you.

Tools & Products

When bronzing, always remember that a sun kissed look is what you are going for.  It very easy with bronzer to go overboard and look like you just stepped out of a long season from a tanning booth.  With bronzer, here is where you are allowed to used red or orange undertones if you desire.  However make sure to first check your own skins undertone and see if these colors will work for you.  You don't want to look like an orange carrot or sun burnt victim if the color is all wrong.  If all else fails, then stick to grey undertones which always look great! Moreover, stay away from glitter/shimmery bronzers.  While they look nice, they TOTALLY look unnatural unless that is the look you are going for.  Glitter/shimmery bronzers work best at night, for a party or club type atmosphere.  But for normal everyday wear, it can look way to overdone.

http://www.sephora.com/milk-chocolate-soleil-light-medium-matte-bronzer-P309709?SKUID=1511831&om_mmc=aff-linkshare-redirect-nu*AjmQvezs&c3ch=Linkshare&c3nid=nu*AjmQvezs&affid=nu.AjmQvezs-eH9kmD2Zh2Zt3NMKhuX_uw&ranEAID=nu*AjmQvezs&ranMID=2417&ranSiteID=nu.AjmQvezs-eH9kmD2Zh2Zt3NMKhuX_uw

One of the best bronzers I have ever used is Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer Milk Chocolate.  You can get this bronzer in two colors.  Either light/medium or a darker shade.  This bronzer has great undertones to work with just about everyone's skin.  It is also matte so it leaves you with a beautiful realistic glow.   The best part about this bronzer is not only the color it leaves you, but that fact that it smells like chocolate!! Hey for a girl like me who is addicted to chocolate, I don't mind having it on my face with zero calorie guilty!!

There are two brushes that come to mind when applying bronzer to the face in my opinion that work wonders each time.  Either a nice large contour brush or an angled brush.

The Blank Canvas Cosmetics F16 Large Contour/Powder Brush is shaped in a tear drop form which works wonders to pick up product at the tip so that you can apply to diagonally down and up the hollows of the cheeks and around the temples and forehead.  Due to its tear shaped design, it allows you to get apply your bronzer right where you need it without smudge your face.

The Blank Canvas Cosmetics F04 Angled Contour Face Brush works well to apply bronzer on the apples of your cheeks and blend it in with your blush if you are applying some on top.  This brush has an angled head which helps to get the bronzer all the way up to the hairline right next to your temples.  You can also bronze with this brush around your forehead due to its angled shape.  Moreover due to this brush having a white head, you can see if you have picked up to much or too little bronzer.

If you plan to both contour and bronze, remember less is more.  I can't stress that point enough. I have seen girls who literally look sun burnt due to over doing it.  The more natural your contour and bronzing look, the more attractive and natural looking you will come out!

Unless you like sporting the brunt look! Then hey as the old saying goes "to each his own" right!

So there you have it! Two concepts that you can combine in one (or two) depending on what type of look you are going for!

Let me know what types of products and tools you use for contouring and bronzer!

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette - $49.00 US

This post contains affiliated links

I love just about anything Too Faced. I have the original Chocolate bar palette and literally reach for it almost all the time. (Click here for that review). The original chocolate bar not only smells like chocolate but looks like a candy bar as well from the outside.  So when the Semi Sweet palette came out, I was happy to see that it had the same design and lovely chocolate smell to it!
When Too Faced came out with their Semi sweet chocolate bar palette I thought it was for sure going to be better than the first.  However upon examining the colors online, I was hesitant at first because of the cool and warm tone shades found all over the palette.  As you can see from the pictures below, the palette seems to have some identity crisis going on where it can't decide if it wants to be either cool or warm tone!  The palette contains 16 shades with eight being shimmery and the rest being matte.  The palette also contains a black shade called Licorice which the original Too Faced Chocolate palette lacked.  Moreover, a lot of the brown colors almost seem identical to each other and other colors just didn't seem to fit.

Especially that blueberry swirl color which seemed to stand out in the middle of the palette like a sore thumb. I literally could not get over it and really had no idea why it was there amongst the other more warm tone colors.  However, after watching a few Youtube videos on this palette, I was determined to give it a try.  So after about two weeks of thinking it over, I finally ordered it online.  I was pretty scared after I hit the order button to be honest as I had no idea what to except nor how I was going to be able to make a cool/warm tone palette work together!  However not to sound like Yoda, "but determined I was!"

When it arrived to my house, I unpacked it right away and went to work to create a blue eyeshadow look that didn't look like circa 1970's Studio 54.  My greatest concern was that  my eyeshadow would warp me back in time with that blue color.  However I played with the color wheel and planned the look out. I use Rum Raisin on the crease of the eye, Peanut Butter on top of the crease, Licorice on the lid of the eye as a base for the blue color,  Blueberry Swirl on the lid for the main color and Hot Fudge on the outer corner of the eye. I used Pink Sugar for the inner part of the eye and Coconut Creme to highlight my brow bone.

The color range of these shadows are awesome as it gives you the ability to work with many different colors and create many warm or cool tone looks which can be found in one palette. The shadows blended well on the eye with a bit of fallout which wasn't the end of the world. However the pigmentation needs help and I mean serious help. While it does appear on the eye, its nothing compared to the original palette.  I noticed when I wet my brush the colors come out more vibrant. Yet when I don't wet my brush, I have to pack on more color then normal to simply get it to show up to a point where I am comfortable with it.  the Blueberry Swirl color; I first wore it on one of my eye's without the black base color and it barely popped.  It looked dull.  I had to wet my brush to get it to appear and shine.  However when I wore it with the black base underneath on my second eye (so I could compare) it appeared nicely but still dull and a wet brush was also needed.  Moreover some colors like Pink Sugar; while its a beautiful beautiful color, works better as a highlighter in the corner of the eye and not as an overall shadow as it will not appear no matter if you wet your brush or not.  I also noticed other youtubers having to wear a base color underneath in order to get the blue color to pop.  Some used a color pencil (blue) on their lid and then layered the shadow in order to help the color appear more vibrant.

I would recommend that Too Faced work on the pigmentation of this palette in order to bring it up to par with their original Chocolate Bar Palette.  While not all the colors need help, but a vast majority due.  So if you don't have an issue with having to wet your brush on some colors, then this palette will truly make you happy.  If you do, then stick with the original chocolate bar palette or wet your brush.  Outside that, not much more you can ask for when pigmentation is in need of help.

Yet with all that being said, I would still recommend this palette due it its ability to make many different looks that can be truly stunning and worthwhile as long as you are willing to put the time in to making them work!

Keep Smiling!

September Favorites!

Monthly Favorites!

September is an awesome month!  Its when Fall returns and the leaves turn a beauty shade of Autumn colors!  Its a great time to start working on your makeup Fall looks!  Plus its also time to look further into your skincare routine and ramp it up.  Since the cold wear is approaching, its always good to start taking care of your skin now!  So Jenny and I decided to put together a few products for your makeup needs and skincare routine!

VoilaVe is a company that sells only quality products with quality ingredients.  My vanity is slowly morphing over to being a small VoliaVe display.  I so far have used all the products they have sent me for review and have replaced a lot of my other facial skincare products with there's.  This serum is a triple action vitamin c that also contains hyaluronic acid.  Come on, you know it doesn't get any better than that!  This leaves my skin feeling awesome and contains two products in one for that triple action punch!  Click here for the the full review on this product!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - $23.00 US

Let me start off by saying, when it comes to loving a product the price shouldn’t really matter! I have a huge collection of mascaras (I swear every promotional gimmick gets me) that in all honestly I’ve wasted so much money on. I heard about this Too Faced mascara and read countless of great reviews.  So I figured why not! It’s not too expensive, it was actually under the $30 mark.

I ordered mine from the site and the shipping was fast and the packaging was pretty amazing! When I opened my box of goodies I grabbed the mascara first; it came with a travel size too!! The wand is super pretty! It comes in a pink shade and looks like it’s made for a real make up junkie like myself.  The best part, was that the magic of this mascara was instant as soon as I applied this on my lashes.  I was instantly a satisfied customer! What I love this mascara, is that it doesn’t clump if applied correctly! Also you can go from wow to WOW by applying a second (or third) coat!! Either way it compliments any look you’re going for and a must have for even the most natural beauties!

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer -$20.00 US

I received this shadow insurance primer as a sample when I ordered some other make up from Too Faced.  I have never felt the need to try eye shadow primer before, but I was getting ready for my friends wedding and did not want to deal with touching up my eye make up. I tried the sample and did not need more than a dab for my eyes. This probably means this sample size will last me for a long time before I need to buy the full size tube. I found this primer to be very smooth and easy to apply. It dried quickly on my eyelids with no residue.  I applied my gold eye shadow for the wedding, and needless to say when I got home my make up looked untouched and fresh! I was impressed!!! I did not have to worry about creasing or the eye shadow wearing off like I do most of the time!! This eye shadow primer is really worth its weight in goal!

Poppy Austin Rosehip Oil - $25.25 US

I have been using Poppy Austin since the start of the year and have truly fallen in love with this company!  I love that fact that they make pure and organic products that really show a difference in results.  I started using this oil three weeks back and have been truly amazed by the results.  My skin looks brighter, hydrated, plump and refresh.  It doesn't leave an oily residual behind and absorbs quickly into the skin.  I would for sure recommend this product if you are in the market to try new oils and/or have skincare issues you are looking to correct as Rosehip oil helps to deal with hyperpigmenation, acne scars, dryness and eczema to name a few.  To read my full review on this product click here!

There you have it, our September favorites for the month! Let us know what you think and if you have tried any of the products mentioned here!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette -$49.00 US / $59.00 CDN

(Disclosure: this post contains affiliated links)

I have no clue where to being with this palette so let's just start!  When this palette first came out I had NO intention of buy it.  None whatsoever.  While I thought the colors were nice and pretty, yet for some reason nothing about it called my attention.  Moreover, the casing was very chucky and I just didn't see how that was attractive or would fit in my drawers.  However one day while watching youtube I realized that everyone was raving about this palette and swatching all the pretty colors that came in it.  Then I start watching different girls doing tutorials on youtube with it and it really started to catch my eye.  Yet what finally made me cave in was when someone said that this smelled like a lovely bar of chocolate!  Right there I knew I had to try it!!

I order this palette from a deal I received and ended up paying only $30 for it!  The first thing I noticed about this palette was just how freaking good it smelled!  It actually smells like chocolate and for me like white chocolate!  The smell is so amazing that I actually many of times grab the palette to simply sniff it!  Weird I know, but you have to smell this to understand!  This palette is made with real coca powder.  So if you are allergic to chocolate than I would not recommend this!  Another thing I noticed was that the casing to my amazement was made smaller.  Since a lot of people complaint about it being to chucky, they slimmed it down in order to make it more user hand friendly!  This palette comes with a clear film at the top of the eye shadow that state all the names of the colors.  To be honest I would have preferred them writing the names under each shadow.

This palette comes with 16 matte and shimmer shades.  Two are highlighters, seven are matte shades and the other seven are shimmer shades.  The colors on this palette swatch so beautifully.    They are highly pigmented, very buttery, creamy and glide on smoothly.  They have very little fall out and hardly any shadow residue when you pick up the color with a makeup brush.  I was truly impressed with that.  I dislike eyeshadow that gets everywhere when you rub the makeup brush on the shadow.  To me that is a cheap shadow palette and not worth using.  If shadows crumbles very easily when picking it up from the pan, then you need to wonder how well that will hold on your eyelids.

I have to say I have been reaching for this palette every time I do my eyes.  I can't stop using this palette.  This by far has got to be one of the most amazing beautiful eyeshadow palettes I have every seen.  If you are in the market for a new eye shadow palette than for sure give this a shot!  You won't regret it!!

If you buy this palette from Sephora, as an added bonus, Receive a FREE Estee Lauder Mini with any $25 purchase. Use code: REPAIRI have heard nothing but good things about this serum.  So the mini is worth trying!

Too Faced Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer

Too Faced Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer -$30.00 US

(Disclosure: this post contains affiliated links)

I love Too Faced!  The first time I heard of them was when I bought their Boudior Eyes Soft and Sexy Shadow Collection (click here for that review).  I used that palette for months straight denying all others!  That's how much I loved it and still do!

When I started contouring and highlighting, I realized that I would need a blush and bronzer in order to pull of this look.  And while I do have separate blush and bronzers lying around, when I am rushed for time a 2 in 1 works great!  I saw this bronzer one day online while "shopping" at Sephora.  I noticed that they had a few of these in different colors.  However the one that grabbed my attention was this Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer.  I normally wear or gravitate towards pinkish blushes.  I think they flatter my skin tone better and look more realistic then red ones, orange ones or purples ones.  Don't get me wrong, many of these colors look awesome on many different skin tones.  However for mine, pink toned ones work better.

When this product arrived to my home, I was amazed on how beautiful the packaging was!  First it came in a nice gold tone compact.  The original packaging had the same shape but a sticker was placed on the top instead of the gold embossed words.  However, the real magic is in the inside!  This has one of the most beautiful leopard patterns I have ever seen.  I don't normally like leopard patterns, however this was a lovely rose and brown color that just caught my eye.  It was so beautiful that I was scared to use it in fear the pattern might rub off.  It hasn't! Thank God!   Because this compact has the blush and bronzer intertwined, all you have to do is swirl your brush on it and it picks up the product evenly.  I always use my Blank Canvas F42 Large Contour/Powder Brush because it was built to basically do that.  Pick up blush and bronzer separately and together!

I always apply this compact gently on the apples of my cheeks and hollows of my cheek bones.  I love the look this gives me.  This compact is not matte but not shimmery either.  I would have to say its in between!  However the glow it gives you is awesome.  When I contour and highlight my face with cream products, I always go in and use this Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer to give it that final touch.  It just looks so much better and gives my whole face a lovely glow.  This product last for a while on your face and doesn't disappear quickly which I love.  Hey, makeup is expensive and who wants to buy it if it won't show up on your face after a few hours!

However, a word of caution.  Since this is a blush and bronzer mixed together and not fully matted, go easy with the application.  What many people  don't get is that if you apply to much of anything it looks way to loud.  Now with that being said, if that is the look you are going for, then rock it! But if not, than I would say a light hand really goes a long way!

July Favorites!

July Favorites!

OMG can you believe July just flew by and now its August!!! I hope everyone is having a good summer so far!  Well believe it or not, I am actually posting my July favorites on time!

As you all know, I love Poppy Austin everything.  I own just about all their products.  This skincare line is amazing because they have actually taken the time out to put proper ingredients in their products that actually prove effective.  I recently tried out their Vitamin C with hyaluronic acid and was just impressed by this combination. Vitamin C helps to improve skin texture, uneven skin tone, fight against free radical cell damage, lightening dark spots and tons more benefits.  Their hyaluronic acid helps to plump up the skin, make it smooth and help with its elasticity.  This product is truly a gem and everyone should have one of these in their skincare drawer!  For a full review on this product click here!

When I heard about this company I knew I had try them out.  Coming from a psych background any product claiming that they had pheromones in them really peaked my interest.  I have to say this product smells amazing. I even blush every time I smell or think about this product.  It smells like soft sorbet raspberries with just a hint of lemon.  I apply this in the shower after using my regular body wash.  Once I wash and dry off, OMG my skin is soft for hours even without applying moisturizer.  It feels like a soft lovely oil left behind on your body that just feels decadent all day long.  I am writing a full review on product this week!  Click here for the full review!

Sally Hansen French Manicure White Tip Pen - $6.99 US

When I paint my nails on my hands, I normally only do the french manicure.  However living in Canada the price for a french manicure can cost anywhere between $25-$35.  Compared to when I lived in the NYC when it was at least 10 dollars cheaper, getting one done every two weeks can add up.  Upon perusing the alleys of Walmart, I found this pen that claimed it can give you a nice french manicure with little to no hassle.  I decided to try it out and sure enough my nails came out awesome. Sure I still needed to clean around the edges, but I had no mess, no crazy lines or nasty white chalky nail tips.  This is really worth getting and dried very quickly!

Too Faced Melted Peony - $25.00 CDN

I love lip glosses and balms.  Lipstick is ok with me, but not my go to! However when I heard that Too Faced came out with these hybrid type lippies, I knew I had to try them.  They are very creamy with a long life wear.  They don't transfer easily and won't dry your lips out either.  You can get them in an array of colors.  I really like the Peony and Nude color.  I would for sure recommend these for the summer and just about all year around!

So there you have it my July favorites!

Keep Smiling!
