I have read before that even if you have good skin, it’s wise to start using an anti-aging cream in your 30’s.  I mean you cant be young forever right!  And all skin needs a little help as we age.  However with that being said, I have to admit I don’t use any moisturizer’s or face creams as I should because I have not found one or shall I say, any that I really liked.  I have a collection in my bathroom of face creams that possible compete with your local Sephora and yet, I use them rarely…. that is until I tried Miracalis Anti-Aging Cream.  When I was told I was going to be able to try this product out by Miracalis I was thrilled!

This cream comes in a glass pot that is light weight and cute looking.   The cream it self is very soft and light.   I found that using a pea size amount was enough to get my whole face and neck area.  It applied on very silky and glided on well without any harsh rubbing to blend it in.  I used this cream twice a day after my daily skincare routine.  I used it in the mornings and at nights before bedtime.  It went on smooth and dried quickly with no residue left behind, greasy look or feel.  

It’s also odorless which I love!!!  Face cream should never have fragrance as that is a potential irritant to the skin.   Since I have very delicate skin that is set off by many products, this truly was a winner for me.  It never irritated my skin or dried it out.  This cream left my skin feeling and looking firmer and softer after almost just 3 weeks of constant use. 

I can apply my makeup almost instantly after using this cream as it absorbed quickly into my skin.  This also works great at night right before bedtime.  As I am ready to hit the pillow after my night time skincare routine, its absorbed nicely and quickly with no nasty residue!

I have found that I use this product more than any other face creams I have purchased in the past leaving me very satisfied.  I plan to continue using this cream due to its great benefits and the fact that my face looks and feels great so that's a bonus as well!

Bioque Rejuvenating Day Cream Review

Bioque Rejuvenating Day Cream - $45 USD

Bioque Global is an American-based skincare company with approximately 14 products in their line-up.  One of those products, and the one I will be reviewing in this article, is the Rejuvenating Day Cream.

I recently moved and this item was sent to my old address then forwarded on to my permanent address, and than I finally received it after its little adventure through the post office.  So I wasn't able to use it for very long.  First, I love the packaging.   It's minimal but it tells you in large letters right on the box what it is.  The container for the day cream itself is very sleek.  The outside section of it is a clear plastic and you can see the cream right through it.

The cream has a mousse-type of bouncy consistency. You can basically bounce your finger off it. The cream goes on smoothly and is very hydrating.  It can be used on your face, neck and back of hands.  I didn't realize I could also use it on my hands at first.  So I gave it a shot.  I first washed my hands with soap which caused the back of my hand to feel dry afterwards.  I then rubbed some of the cream on and immediately the skin on the back of my hands felt smooth. I plan to keep trying this method on days my hands need a little pick me up!

Bioque's website claims that in as little as four weeks you will see reduced lines and wrinkles. Unfortunately I was not able to use the product for four weeks so I cannot attest to this claim, but I plan on continuing to use the product on the cold winter days.  Since Bioque's Rejuvenating Day Cream might be just a little too hydrating for my very oily skin during the hot summer months it might not be a good idea.  However, if you have normal to dry skin I would most certainly recommend this cream.

I had two complaints about this cream. First, it has too much of a chemical smell.  However, it dissipates rather quickly after applying it on your face.  My second complaint was that it came with a small plastic boomerang looking item that comes inside the packaging but has no explanation as to its use.  I can only assume that I'm supposed to scoop some of the cream out with it in order to avoid contaminating the jar with the germs on my hands.  Nonetheless creams don't stabilize well in jars and they collect bacteria due to the constant sticking of our fingers and things into them.  So I would urge the company to consider bottling this in an air tight pump container.  Many cream companies are now moving towards this method for hygienic and quality assurance of the ingredients.

I would recommend this cream to someone who has normal to combination skin.  For those with oily skin, this might be to much for you.

Michael Todd True Organic Damascus Rose Moisturizer!

Michael Todd True Organic Damascus Rose Moisturizer- $27 US

When I first heard of Michael Todd True Organic line, it was through a groupon.  I had never heard of this skincare line, but I saw this cream and for some reason really wanted to try it.  I was in the market for a new one anyway, so I figured why not.  I first googled the hell of out Michael Todd and found their website.  However I wanted real people's review on these products and just about everything I read had nothing but awesome things to same about this line so I decided to go ahead and order the cream.  It was originally on their website at that time for $130 (at that time) and I bought it through the groupon for $20.  Sweet deal right! Even if the cream sucked, I figured $20 for a $130 cream; you really can't go wrong.  SOLD!

It took almost 3 months to arrive at my home.  However when it finally did, I was so excited to use it that I could hardly wait.  First thing I noticed was that it has a rosy smell to it and the cream is a yellowish based color.   It comes in jar which is not the best for creams as air tight pumps are better but whatever.  It is a decent size for a decent amount of product. 

Since it came during the middle of the day, I waited till night to use it.  I washed my face as I normally do and applied it that night along with my skincare routine.  I went to bed and woke up the next morning.  My face felt refreshed, light and very well hydrated.  I applied it again that morning after I washed my face along with my normal skincare routine and again my face felt awesome.  This cream was light weight and not to greasy.  It never clogged my pores, caused me breakouts or irritated my skin.  I really left it feeling well moisturized and hydrated.  By the time I laid my head on my pillow after applying my night time skincare products, this cream was the last part of my routine and it adsorbed well!   

Since a little goes a long way, it took about a year before the cream ran out and this was after applying it daily twice a day.  Since this cream is very emollient all you need is one finger dab to go a long way....literally.  All I did was dab one finger into the cream and that was enough to apply all over my face and neck.  I was amazed on how soft and luxurious this cream was. However I did notice if you applied to much, it might feel to heavy on your face.  So I would caution you use a small amount as that is all you really needed.  I also noticed that if I rubbed it in or added extra cream into the dry spots on my face it hydrated that area well.  It got rid of the flakiness and dryness around my face.  It never left my skin feeling greasy and really left it with a vibrant look.

MTTO Damascus Rose Moisturizer is formulated with 10 different peptides and tri-peptides which help with collagen production in the skin.  Its combined with antioxidants such as  A, B5, C, E and Co-Enzyme Q-10 which help to protect your skin from environmental stressors. It also includes essential oils such as Palm, Rose Hps, Avocado, Jojoba, Carrot Seed, Wheat Germ, and Neem which help to condition the skin and keep it soft and supple.   

My only complaint was the jar.  Recently MTTO is slowly moving all their creams into air type pumps.  It would be great if this followed suit!  Air tight pumps reduce bacteria getting into the products as you no longer have to stick your finger into the cream.  Furthermore air tight pumps reduce light and air exposure which tends to break down the formula in creams.  So this would be great if this cream could be packaged differently in order to offer better quality to the consumers!

I would recommend this cream if you have dry skin or mature skin and need to add a little extra punch into your skincare routine.

Non-Oily Moisturizer Delivers Deep Hydration and Nutrient Absorption

I really found interesting the fact that this serum has 21 minerals found in the product and that it had of course dead sea components in it.  The fact that it had Vitamin C infused in the product was a bonus as vitamin c is an antioxidant that works great in making the skin glow and radiant! (To read more about Vitamin C and its lovely effects, click here!)  They also added evening primrose oil in the mix which has great anti-inflammatory properties and works great as an emollient. 

 

The serum comes out in a white cream type form and is non greasy which is a bonus for me since I have oily skin.  I applied the serum once per day after my morning shower and it dried very fast.  I never had a greasy feeling left on my face or any residue like effect.  After a few weeks, my skin also feels a bit firmer and it did not leave my skin feeling greasy.  Adovia claims that it is an anti-age serum and while that may be true, I have not used it long enough to validate this claim. I should note that I am a 34-year-old Hispanic light-skinned woman without a single wrinkle who appears to be in her mid-twenties. Needless to say, I am not seeking a more youthful appearance however using products now to slow down any signs of aging (eventually) are always useful.  Especially ones that are formulated well and have real ingredients to make a difference in your skincare.  A lot of companies nowadays add a bunch of junk that do more harm then good.  So seeing good quality products in a bottle is worth noting. 

However, I did have one complaint.  I've been using this serum for about three weeks now and I thought I might not even get that far because about 3 days into using this product, the pump stopped working!!  But like my resourceful self I unscrewed the pump so that I could wipe some of the serum onto my hand and apply it to my face.  Hey I figure why let a good serum go to waste if I could pull a MacGyver here!  After a few more days the pump mysteriously began working again, eureka! No longer did I need to scoop out serum Bronx style. 

All in all, my only complaint is the low quality of the pump.  For the price, I would expect a pump that would function until the last drop has been used.  However, it could also be that I received a faulty pump.  I read other reviews online and didn't see anyone else having the same problem. 

I'm also currently using their Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream so stay tuned for a review of that product in the future!

Hydra B5 Masque Advanced Formula +

Cosmetic Skin Solutions is a company that I have used before in the past and love.  I currently use their Retinol 1% and in the past I have used their Vitamin C + E with Ferulic Acid.  I have blogged about both these products before in my Retinol and Vitamin C posts. Upon surfing their site recently, I noticed that they came out with a new product called Hydra B5 Masque Advanced Formula +.  So I decided to read up on it.  According to the site it says:

"Ideal for dry, cracked, dehydrated, and stressed skin, this intensely hydrating vitamin B5 masque is essential to restoring the skin’s optimal moisture balance by combining naturally occurring humectants to bind moisture, and to improve form and function of the skin.

This highly concentrated vitamin B5 masque supplies high amounts of hyaluronic acid (1%) to replenish depleted moisture levels associated with skin conditions listed. Hyaluronic acid is the skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) responsible for tissue hydration and immediate water attracting and binding attributes. Ideal for all skin types."

Now for those who have no clue what hyaluronic acid is, allow me to elaborate.  Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally in the human body and seen in high dosages in babies.   Ever wondered why babies and small children always look like they have beautiful supple plumpy skin?  Well its because of the hyaluronic acid in their system.  Its a major component of skin tissue that give babies this beautiful effect.  Skin in general holds about fifty percent of your body’s hyaluronic acid in it.  However as we get older we loss a lot of it and thus aging takes it toll.  Hyaluronic Acid  plumps and moisturizes skin as well as it helps to heal and comfort it when its suffered damage.  Hyaluronic Acid also prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming and helps by retaining moisture in the skin and creating a cushion like effect to help plump out the lines as we age.   So once I realized that it has HA in it, I decided to order it. 

I recently have been dealing with a skin rash that broke out on my face and all over my neck for over a month now.  No one knows what caused it or why it won't leave.  When I finally got myself over to the doctor (one month later) I realized that the rash left me with dry skin on my face and it was pretty bad.  I was actually bleeding in certain parts of my face.  I used my Clarisonic as often as I could to buff away the dry skin cells but nothing worked.  I then used my Argan oil and Passionfruit oil (Maracuja) but still the dryness would not leave.  I starting using once a week a dead sea mud mask (click here for that review) that helped with the dryness, however you could only apply once a week and you had to wash it off after 10-15 minutes.  I started shopping around for a face cream/masque that would help with this issue at night.  However everything kept coming up short or whatever I did try made it worse.  So when I saw that CSS came out with this product, I decided to investigate the ingredients and give it a shot.  I mean the rash literally left me looking like I had suffered burns to my face and neck, so really how much worse could it get.

The product arrived to my house on Tuesday.  When bedtime came, though I will admit I was scared as all high hell to try anything new at this point, I gave it a shot.  I have used CSS and they have NEVER let me down so I went for it.  So far I have used this product two nights in a row and OMG what a difference!!  I was amazed as to what my face felt like when I woke up the next morning. It was literally so soft that I could not stop touching it! My skin felt supple, plumpy and ever so soft.   It literally looked hydrated.  I haven't been able to wear makeup because of this rash, yet my skin looks amazing without any on at the moment.  This masque has literally made a massive difference on my face.  It didn't cause further irritant or dryness and basically just worked with my facially issues at the moment.   

Another reason why I love this product so much is because it has NO fragrance dyes or perfume in it. All that stuff really messes with your skin. Its a clear gel like consistency that goes on super smooth and leaves no film or sticky feeling behind.  All you need is one small squirt as it really goes along way.  Since it is a gel like based it spreads very well with very little needed.  

I honestly am in love.  I just adore CSS because of the amazing products they put out.  Plus they ship to Canada which is fabulous and a must need for the cold harsh weather in the winter.  They are very similar to the company skinceuticals.  However CSS has way better pricing that is more reasonable which is what keeps me coming back.  They have great products, affordable pricing and package quality.  

If you need extra moisture for your skin, this is it and truly worth the dollar value without all the unnecessary bells and whistles aka facial irritants that you find in other products!
