I have been using VoilaVe skincare line since about the middle of this year and have not been disappointed one bit!  I was recently asked to review their Total Youth Eye Gel, and let me tell you it could not of come at a better time!

I am 33 years old, with three kids under the age of four and another one on the way which is due in March/April!  Needless to say I don't get much sleep....ever.  Since the day my first child was born I can't remember having a full night's rest without waking up constantly in the middle of the night to take care of one of my children.  Nonetheless no matter what type of parent you are and no matter how much you do for your kids, nothing can get you back your years that you lose due to lack of sleep.  Don't get me wrong I am use to working 14-16 hour shift as an intern and then as a therapist in my own practice. I know what its like to work 7 days a week around the clock,  sleep very little, eat very little and still look like you are in your twenties!  However all you need to do is become a parent to never sleep again!

I naturally, by genetics, have dark under eye circles.  My two year old daughter has them as well.  Normally with dark under eye circles, very little besides surgery can really correct that issues.  However puffiness, dull eye skin, swelling, wrinkles and redness can totally be helped if a great eye cream is applied to the area.  However with that being said, not all eye creams actually do what they claim to do.  Most eye creams are great moisturizers.   However if you are looking to correct under eye issues, then you need more then just a cream to see a difference in that area.   You actually need a cream that is load with certain type of ingredients that are clinically proven to show results.  

VoilaVe Total Youth Eye Gel is made with organic ingredients and contains plant stem  cells, matrixyl 3000 to help tighten and firm the skin, hyaluronic acid to help plump out the skin and diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, cucumber and aloe to help smooth the skin and reduces puffiness and swelling, vitamin E; and other great ingredients to cause a difference underneath your eyes!

The product is bottled in an air tight and non see through pump which is great to help keep the product stable and free from bacteria that is transferred from our fingers to the cream when we stick our hands in jars.   It dispense just the right amount with one pump.  A little goes a long way since your under eye area is small.  

I used this product for about three weeks, and while it hasn't been able to get me back my years of lost sleep (can't have it all) it has been able to help reduce the swelling and puffiness around my eyes I get from water retention due to lack of sleep.  It has improved the looked of my starting crows feet around my eyes (gasp!!) and it has help plump out my skin and keep it conditioned and bright looking.  While my dark under eye circles will always exist, nonetheless lack of sleep just makes them look worse.  This under eye cream really has made a difference on my eyes!  It never stung my eyes, or had a smell to it.  It never irritated or burned my skin either.  I once tried an eye gel that peeled the skin underneath my eyes right off and turned them yellow!!  Needless to say, I am careful with any eye cream I try!  Thankfully this eye is formulated right with no adverse affects to my eyes.

I am grateful to see a company that is able to offer an eye cream that does just more than condition the skin.  This cream is truly worth the try if you ask me!

Yalmeh Glory Eye Bright Gel Review & GIVE-A-WAY!

Eye creams and gels are very interesting.  Reason is because some are just basically face cream bottled in a tiny expensive tube,  while others actually do show improvement over time.  However its hard to tell what you are getting unless you read the ingredients list.  

I was on the market looking for an eye gel that would actually work.  And by works, I mean that results would be evident.  I tend to get bothered with facial products rather quickly.  If I don’t see results from the product in about 2-3 weeks time frame, I’ll lose all interest and stop using it!  Hence why I have a collection of eye and faces creams in my bathroom.  

I have a four month old baby and due to the lack of sleep I get, I started to develop dark circles under my eyes!!! Gasp!!! Besides sleep, I knew I needed something else that would work quickly and not cost me another night of sleep worth in dollars!  So when I asked to try out this cream eye, I was game.  I mean at this point my under eye area needed help and fast!

What I like about this product is the fact that the packaging is small and simple.  Since I have so many beauty products that I use and try out, I like to keep the ones I like neatly and organized in my vanity. I started using this product once a week but ONLY at nights before bed.  I noticed after one week of using this product the dark circles under my eyes were gone! A bonus also was that I even felt my face was firmer around the areas I applied the gel to.  I only used about a pea size dab amount on each area under my eyes.   It didn't sting my eyes, irritate the delicate part of the skin or cause any burning.

 The product dries quickly without having a greasy feeling left behind and you can use it with your moisturizer without having to wait for it to dry.  It has a light smell to it like cucumber, and when it’s applied it feels cool and refreshing.   However the smell was so slight that it never burned my eyes. 

I would recommend this product to my friends and family.

Review of the Week: Adovia Mineral Eye Gel

Everything Beauty and Beyond was given the opportunity to review this mineral eye gel by Adovia.  I have to say I have tried many products so far from this company and have not been disappointed by the quality of products they put out! 

According to their site it says:

This sheer, light gel is infused with active minerals from the Dead Sea to soothe and protect the delicate eye area from dehydration and the signs of aging. Adovia's unique eye gel is specially formulated for the delicate area around the eyes. This gentle, ultra-light gel absorbs quickly and keeps the eye area hydrated all day. Essential Dead Sea minerals and Evening Primrose Oil provide lasting moisture helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Chamomile and Sweet Almond extracts soothe and revitalize the skin leaving it radiant and smooth. Vitamins A and C work to protect the skin from daily damage."

The mineral eye gel itself comes in minimal packaging but with the brand and title prominently displayed. The gel contains Dead Sea Minerals, Vitamin C and Ginsent which are all pretty good ingredients to pack into any eye cream.  The jar itself is certainly a generous size.  It's not as small as some eye creams I've come across that don't give you enough bang for you buck!  I find those gel eye very disappointing that promise you hope in a bottle that come in the size of a dime.  I think for the amount of money we spend on eye cream it should for sure last you more then just a month.  However the only thing I don't like about this eye is that it comes in a jar.  Since this contains Vitamin C; Vitamin C is an antioxidant which starts to break down when it hits air and light.  So in order to preserve the ingredients, it would be wise that the company get rid of manufacturing this cream in a jar form and transfer it over to a vacuum pump container which helps maintain the ingredients in the bottle.   

This eye gel is clear (whiteish) in color and has no smell to it which is a bonus when applying cream around the eye.  It absorbs very quickly into your skin which is awesome when you are rushing to get out the door or getting read for bed.  I hate putting on eye cream or any type of cream for that matter that requires time to dry especially at night.  You should be able to put your head down on a pillow shortly after applying this eye cream.  Adovia's website says you can apply it in the mornings as well, but I would keep it to just nights.  I wouldn't want to potentially have stinging eyes on my way to work.  Since this did sting my eyes a bit I would stay with using it as a night time routine or applying it VERY carefully in the morning.

I  recently moved and did not have a lot of opportunity to use the eye gel mostly because I was too stressed out to remember, but I will give an account of my experience with it.  First, don't apply too close to the eye.  It will end up seeping in at the corners and stinging your eye!  Always apply eye cream to the tops, sides and bottoms (your under eye area) of your orbital bone.  The closer you get to the inside of your eye the higher risk you run of irritation with ANY eye cream.  

At 34 years old, I do not have wrinkles around my eyes but I most certainly have to start using anti-wrinkle cream BEFORE the wrinkles appear!  While we all know that anti-aging, the concept is nonsense as nothing you will ever do will stop you from aging.  However we can slow down the signs of aging by using well formulated product that help to keep the skin looking young and supple.  It's difficult to say in such a short amount of time whether or not the product truly works but I plan on continuing to use it to combat any potential wrinkles.  I really liked this cream and found it useful for my eye area.  Eye wrinkles or not, it is well formulated and worth trying out!
